CHICAGO – University of Chicago's Lance Culjat was voted onto the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team, which was announced on Thursday.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District Teams are voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of American (CoSIDA). Academic All-District recipients must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.
Culjat submitted a standout junior campaign in the pool for the Maroon men's swimming and diving team. He helped lead the Maroons to an eighth-place team finish at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships – the team's highest placing ever. Culjat finished national runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke while also achieving All-American status in the 100-yard breaststroke (seventh) and 200-yard IM (11th).
During his three-year career, Culjat is a seven-time All-American. The neuroscience major has been recognized twice on the University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Academic team and earned a spot on the 2018 UAA Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team.
