GRANVILLE, Ohio – The University of Chicago women's divers submitted the most dominating group performance in program history to highlight day one of the NCAA Diving Regional on Friday.
With Denison University serving as the host, a total of 22 men and 22 women qualified for the regional meet. The men's three-meter dive was first on the docket. First-year Logan Sherwin produced a standout performance by scoring 469.30 points and finishing second in the event. Fellow rookie Andrew Chen took eighth place overall with 412.20 points.
The day wrapped up with the women's one-meter dive. Four Maroons were in action, and over the course of 11 rounds, UChicago swept the top four places on the podium for the first time ever. Sophomore Elizabeth Cron earned her first career regional title with a winning score of 458.25 points. Senior Agnes Lo took runner-up on the board with 446.85 points. Sophomore Alice Saparov was third (424.35 points) and first-year Evanna Peng secured fourth place (419.50 points).
