Nick Daly begins his fifth year as a member of the University of Chicago swimming and diving coaching staff in 2017-18.
In 2017, both UChicago swimming and diving squads placed 11th at the NCAA Championships. Seventeen swimmers and divers combined to earn 40 All-American honors.
At the conclusion of 2016, UChicago's men and women both finished 14th at the NCAA Championships. A total of 16 swimmers earned 42 All-American awards during the meet.
In 2015, the women's team finished 13th and the men's team placed 14th at the NCAA Division III Championships, and the Maroons came away with 41 All-American awards over the course of the meet. The highlight of the meet was supplied on the final day when the 400-yard freestyle relay (Mantim Lee, Thomas Meek, Jeremy Estes, Matthew Veldman) won the national championship.
During the 2013-14 season, Daly helped guide the men's and women's teams to a 10th place finish at the 2014 NCAA Championship, as well as helping the teams to set 32 combined varsity records. Abby Erdmann also won the national title in the women's 200-yard butterfly. He spent the 2012-13 season as a volunteer assistant at his alma mater, Middlebury College.
Daly graduated from Middlebury in 2012 with a degree in geology. He was a four-year varsity letterwinner, earning All-American accolades his sophomore and junior seasons. He spent the 2014 summer coaching the Quince Orchard Swim Team in Maryland, and the 2013 summer learning from the coaching staff at the University of Texas as well as coaching at the Harvard University Swim Camp.
