Nicole Kaupp joined University of Chicago in June 2019 as the assistant swimming coach and assistant aquatics director.
In her debut 2019-20 campaign at UChicago, 32 Maroons collected 75 All-American awards, while 11 swimmers and divers accumulated 13 UAA titles.
Kaupp served as the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach and Director of Aquatics at Luther College from 2016-19. Prior to that position, she was the Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach and Assistant Aquatics Director at Washington University – St. Louis from 2009-16.
During her time at WashU, Kaupp helped guide some of the most successful teams and swimmers in school history, which included:
- 41 All-Americans with 205 All-American honors
- 5 NCAA National Champions
- 3 NCAA record holders
- 2 UAA Swimmers of the Year
- 5 UAA Rookies of the Year
- 81 school records
- 2016 UAA Men’s Coaching Staff of the Year
Prior to WashU, Kaupp spent three years on the staff at Southwestern (Tex.), spending her first two seasons as an assistant before being elevated to interim head coach in 2009. In that year, she earned the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Swimming Coach of the Year award after the Pirates recorded their first NCAA Division III national qualifier in program history.
Kaupp, who has served on the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships Commitee from 2017-19, graduated from Lewis & Clark (Ore.) with a bachelor's degree in history.
