UChicago Men’s Tennis Advances to ITA Oracle Cup Doubles Championship Match

ROME, Ga. – University of Chicago men's tennis players Tyler Raclin and Jeremy Yuan advanced to the doubles championship match at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Oracle Cup on Friday.

The doubles duo of Raclin and Yuan won for the second-straight day with a thrilling three-set triumph in the semifinals. The No. 4-seeded Maroons took on the No. 8 seeds from Whitman College, and Whitman came away with the first set, 6-4. UChicago held strong and took the second set 6-3 to force a third-set super tiebreak, which Yuan and Raclin won 11-9.

The doubles final will be feature UChicago versus the No. 2 seeds from Bowdoin College at 1:00 PM (ET) on Saturday.

In singles play, Yuan took on JT Wynne (Skidmore College) in the consolation semis. The Maroon first-year earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory to advance to the fifth-place match on Saturday. His 8:30 AM (ET) opponent will be Chase Lipscomb (University of Redlands).
