CHICAGO – For the fourth time this season, University of Chicago men's tennis player Jeremy Yuan secured Athlete of the Week status from the University Athletic Association (UAA) on Monday.
Yuan went a perfect 3-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles for the No. 5-ranked UChicago men's tennis team during last week's spring break trip to California. The Maroons went 2-1 against three opponents nationally ranked in the top 15, which included victories over No. 14-ranked Pomona-Pitzer and No. 11-ranked Williams College. Yuan won all his singles bouts in straight sets at No. 3 singles, and also topped Williams in a tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles.
The UChicago rookie leads the team in singles victories at 21-5 to go with a 17-5 doubles mark.
