CHICAGO – For the third time this season, University of Chicago's Jeremy Yuan was selected as a University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week on Monday afternoon.
Yuan was previously named UAA Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week on October 8 and February 4. The sophomore led his team to a pair of weekend victories over No. 12-ranked Case Western Reserve University and No. 6-ranked Washington University – St. Louis. He went 2-0 at No. 2 singles and 1-1 at No. 3 doubles.
Most notably, Yuan's clutch performance versus WashU gave the Maroons the deciding team point, 5-4. Yuan trailed in the third set 4-1 before ripping off five-straight games to triumph 6-3, 6-7, 6-4.
So far this season, Yuan owns a 20-6 singles record and a 19-8 doubles mark.
