KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Another strong doubles performance highlighted the University of Chicago tennis effort on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Championships.

The national singles and doubles brackets were in quarterfinal action on day two. The junior doubles tandem of Erik Kerrigan and Ninan Kumar were seeking to advance to the NCAA semifinals for the second time – they previously achieved the feat in the 2017 tournament. The UChicago duo made that a reality thanks to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Bradley Cummins/Brysl Libao (University of Redlands). Kerrigan and Kumar have now 15 matches in-a-row.

The women's singles quarterfinal saw Maroon junior Marjorie Antohi take on No. 2-seed Catherine Allen (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps). Allen claimed a tightly-contested first set 7-6, followed by a 6-3 second set. Antohi finished her season with a 20-9 singles record and the third All-American honor of her career.
