KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The University of Chicago men's tennis team finished second in the doubles bracket at the conclusion of the three-day Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Region Championships on Sunday.
The No. 3-seed duo of senior Tyler Raclin and sophomore Joshua Xu began the morning in the doubles draw semifinals. They took down the Case Western Reserve University tandem of Zach Hennessey and Jonathan Powell by an 8-3 margin.
In the championship match, UChicago faced off with CWRU's No. 5-seeds Matthew Chen and James Hopper. The Spartans took the first set 6-4, but the Maroons answered back in the second set 6-3. In the third-set tiebreaker, CWRU won 10-5.
