Maroon Men’s Tennis Beats Kalamazoo 9-0

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Close points and sets consistently went in favor of the University of Chicago men's tennis team in a 9-0 victory at Kalamazoo College on Saturday.

The No. 4-ranked Maroons improved their season record to 4-0 while the No. 29-ranked Hornets fell to 2-1.

Doubles played out competitively with UChicago wins of 8-4 at No. 1 and 8-6 at No. 2. The No. 3 bout went to a tiebreaker, which Alejandro Rodriguez and Alex Guzhva clinched 7-5.

The Maroons proceeded to collect all six singles contests. Both three-set matches were won by Sachin Das at No. 2 and Jaird Meyer at No. 6. All three tiebreaker sets were won by UChicago as well.

Multi-winners on the day featured Erik Kerrigan, Jeremy Yuan, Das, Rodriguez and Guzvha.

So far this year in duals, the Maroons have won 34 out of 36 singles and doubles matches.
