Maroons men's cross country take fourth at UAA Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The University of Chicago men's cross country team took fourth place at the UAA Championship on Saturday.

Washington University-St. Louis was the team winner with 52 points. The Maroons scored 88 points as a team.

Billy Whitmore finished in third place with a time of 25:15.7 in the 8K race at Genesee Valley Park. Gregor Siegmund was 14th (25:45.3), Isaac Dalke was 17th (25:49.5), Henry Blood was 26th (25:57.5) and Renat Zalov was 28th (25:59.5). Additionally, the Maroons rounded out their top seven finishers with Samuel Butler in 30th (26:08.6) and Griffin Brunk in 33rd (26:11.8).

Whitmore earned a spot on the All-UAA First Team with Siegmund picking up Second Team All-UAA accolades. Additionally, Blood was recognized as UAA Rookie of the Year.
