KENOSHA, Wis. – The University of Chicago men's and women's cross country teams both placed in the top six at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational on Saturday.
On the women's side, the Maroons placed fourth out of 16 teams with 96 points. Host Wisconsin-Parkside was the winner with 36 points. A total of 182 women ran in the 6K race. Senior Catherine Young led the way for UChicago by placing seventh in a time of 18:54.3. Junior Madeleine Horvath finished closely behind in 10th place at 19:03.1. Junior Michelle Dobbs finished 22nd in 19:31.2.
In the men's 8K race, UChicago was sixth of 16 teams (197 points) and Wisconsin-Parkside took the team victory with 21 points. The men's field was made up of 220 runners. The top finisher for the Maroons was junior Eyal Hanfling, who placed 43rd in a time of 27:23. Freshman Owen Melia broke into the scoring group in 48th place (27:29.6) and freshman Abe Herzog was 55th overall (27:38.7).
