CHICAGO – Four University of Chicago women's basketball players were named to the 2018-19 University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Association Team on Thursday morning.
For the second-straight year, Olariche Obi earned a spot on the All-UAA First Team. Additionally, she was picked as the UAA Defensive Player of the Year. The senior forward is averaging 10.7 points per game while leading the team in rebounding (8.2 per game), field-goal percentage (.482) and blocks (20). She is currently second on the team with 46 steals. Obi ranks highly in the program's career records with 896 rebounds (2nd), 210 steals (6th) and 112 blocks (6th).
Taylor Lake was a First Team All-UAA selection after earning Second Team last season. The junior forward leads the Maroons with 14.5 points per game, 54 assists and a .358 three-point percentage. She is second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per game and 19 blocks. Lake has also tallied 39 steals and a .439 field-goal percentage.
Mia Farrell earned her second-straight all-conference nod, placing on the Second Team All-UAA. The junior point guard paces the team with 48 steals and 74 made free throws (.747). She also stands second on the squad in scoring (12.4 PPG) and assists (52) while also grabbing 3.5 rebounds per game.
Miranda Burt was an Honorable Mention All-UAA honoree for the second time in her career. Burt has made a team-high 46 three-pointers (35.1 percent) with an .839 free-throw percentage. The junior guard is third on the Maroons with 11.2 points per game. She has also posted 41 assists, 39 steals and 2.9 rebounds per game.
