Maroon women's soccer loses 2-0 at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Augustana College scored a pair of goals two minutes apart and shutout the University of Chicago women's soccer team 2-0 on Saturday.

The No. 11-ranked Maroons evened their record at 1-1 and the Vikings improved to 2-0.

Augustana netted its first tally in the 32nd minute and quickly added an insurance goal in the 34th minute. UChicago tested Augustana goalie Meredith Chew with seven shots on goal and 14 shots overall. Sophomore forward Mia Calamari led the team with five shots, including three on goal. Senior midfielder Naomi Pacalin added four shots, with two on goal. However, Chew made all seven saves to get the win.

UChicago freshman goalkeeper Piper Mik (1-1) surrendered two goals with one save. The Maroons led in shots 14-9 while corner kicks were even at 4-4.
