UChicago women's soccer loses 1-0 in overtime at Carnegie Mellon

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Chicago women's soccer team's six-match win streak was halted on Sunday with a 1-0 overtime loss to Carnegie Mellon University.

The No. 6-ranked Maroons (15-2 overall) and the No. 18-ranked Tartans (10-5-1) are now tied for second place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) at 4-2. UChicago will wrap up its regular season next Saturday with a showdown at conference leader Washington University-St. Louis.

In the final stats, the Maroons led in both shots taken (9-6) and corner kicks (7-2). The visitors were denied in the 64th minute when sophomore midfielder Jenna McKinney's shot was saved by CMU's defenders to keep the game scoreless.

The match headed to overtime and the Tartans capitalized, scoring off a rebound at the 94:44 mark to end it. Freshman goalkeeper Katie Donovan (15-2 record) made three saves with one goal allowed.
