Top-Ranked Women's Soccer Stays Unbeaten; Shuts Out Rochester 3-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Junior midfielder Jenna McKinney netted the game-winner early and the No. 1 University of Chicago women's soccer team began University Athletic Association play on a high note in Saturday's 3-0 shutout win at University of Rochester.

The top-ranked Maroons (10-0, 1-0 UAA) won their 10th straight game and completed a UChicago soccer sweep over the Yellowjackets, after the men's team topped UR 4-1 earlier in the day.

McKinney opened the game's scoring in the 8th minute, connecting on her team-leading seventh goal on a 65-yard solo run, quickly giving the Maroons a 1-0 advantage.

Freshman forward Katie Jasminski would add another score just before the half, as fellow rookie Maddie DeVoe fed her a perfect through ball to free Jasminski and she capitalized to record her fourth goal of the year in the 44th minute.

Senior midfielder Mia Calamari would added the exclamation point in the 84th, connecting on her second goal of the season on a free kick to the top right corner from 18 yards out to produce the final score.

The Maroons outshot the Yellowjackets (5-3-1, 0-1) by a 19-4 margin, including 10-3 on goal, and held an 11-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Sophomore Katie Donovan got the win in goal for UChicago, playing 65 minutes with one save. Rookie Miranda Malone finished the final 25 minutes, stopping two shots.
