CHICAGO – The top-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team put together a dominating performance in a 4-0 league shutout of No. 19 Emory Saturday at Stagg Field.

The unbeaten Maroons (12-0, 2-0 University Athletic Association) recorded their third-straight shutout and eighth of the season in the victory, as keepers Katie Donovan (9-0) and Miranda Malone combined to keep the clean sheet.

After both defenses held through the first 1-0 minutes, rookie Katie Jasminski broke the scoreless tie in the 35th. Senior Mia Calamari – who would record two assists on the day – sent a perfect pass ahead to give Jasminski a breakaway, and she promptly finished to the upper left to make it 1-0 UChicago.

Just before half, a pair of Maroon freshmen helped contribute to UChicago's next goal, as Jasminski sent a pass in to Maddie DeVoe, who fired one toward the Emory keeper from about 15 yards out. An Eagles defender trying to clear the ball ending up deflecting the ball past her keeper, resulting in the own goal and giving the hosts a 2-0 advantage at half.

Senior Madori Spiker broke away from the pack 13 minutes later, as classmate Whitley Cargile delivered a perfect pass from the defensive zone to her sprinting teammate who beat a charging Eagles' keeper for her eighth score of the year.

Junior forward Jenna McKinney added the exclamation point in the 59th, finishing a point-blank shot via Calamari's second assist to create the final score. For McKinney, it was her team-leading ninth goal of the season.

The Maroons outshot the Eagles (7-4, 0-2) by a 19-5 margin – including 10-2 on goal – and held an 8-3 advantage on corner kicks.

Danielle Staffin took the loss in goal for Emory, stopping three shots, and reserve Haley Pratt added three saves.
