GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 15 University of Chicago women's soccer team came out firing on all cylinders with a balanced attack that led to a 4-0 shutout road win at Calvin University Saturday.

The Maroons (6-1-1) – who haven't lost since their home opener against No. 9 Pomona-Pitzer on Sept. 7 – used two goals from Katie Jasminski, one each from Adrianna Vera and Hanna Watkins and Watkins added two assists in a stellar road effort against the Knights (2-6-1).

It was Vera who earned the game-winner. The senior forward took her one shot on goal for the game and connected for her eighth score (team best) of the year, using a Watkins assist to put the Maroons up early in just the 8th minute.

Jasminski added to the fray with her first goal of the game in the 16th, capitalizing on a Annie Mitchell assists to make it 2-0, Maroons, a score that would hold into the break. Watkins joined the scoring affair in the 55' on a Rachel Dias assist and it was Jasminski (Watkins assist) that ended the scoring in the 59' to collect her sixth goal of the season.

UChicago outshot the hosts by a 24-1 margin, and didn't give up a shot in the second half. The Maroons totaled eight corner kicks to Calvin's three and all three UChicago keepers – Sydney Jones, Emma Smith and Miranda Malone helped preserve the shutout.

Malone, the starter, was credited with the win, stopping one shot.

The Maroons kick off University Athletic Association play next weekend when UChicago hosts No. 25 Emory Saturday, Oct. 5, at Stagg Field.
