ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The No. 11 University of Chicago women's soccer team battled host and 19th-ranked University of Rochester to a 1-1 draw in two overtimes Sunday in University Athletic Association play.

The Maroons (8-1-2, 1-0-1 UAA), despite dominating the shot total against the host Yellowjackets 22-7, need the equalizing goal in the 62' minute from junior Claudia Hodgetts to tie the game in regulation. Hodgetts scored for the second-straight match, finishing a free kick serve from first-year Ruthie Mitchell from about five yards out in the box.

That score answered the games' first point, a goal by Rochester's Carolyn Richards in the 55', who broke away from the Maroons' defense with the help of a chip pass from teammate Jorie Freitag.

With the game deadlocked at 1-all through 90 minutes, UChicago again led in shots through the two extra frames, 5-1. But Rochester would not yield, aided by the play of goalkeeper Emma Schechter, who finished with 12 saves.

Maroons' goalkeeper Miranda Malone tallied four saves for the UChicago defense, who gave up just five shots on goal compared to 13 for the visitors.

Senior Hanna Watkins led UChicago in shots with four, all on frame.
