CHICAGO – Six members of the University of Chicago women's soccer team were named to the 2019 All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Team.
The Maroons were represented on the First Team by Hanna Watkins. The senior midfielder is the squad's leading scorer with 10 goals and five assists in 17 starts. She's tallied three-game winning scores as well. Previously, Watkins was an Honorable Mention All-UAA pick in 2018.
Junior Maddie DeVoe earned a spot on the Second Team, starting all 17 games on the Maroon defense. Both of her goals this season have been game-winners versus Milwaukee School of Engineering and Carnegie Mellon University. DeVoe also has two assists. The defense has shutout six opponents this year.
Goalkeeper Miranda Malone was a Second Team honoree. The junior has started 15 times in 16 appearances, accumulating an 11-2-3 record. Her goals against average stands at 0.86 to go with a .797 save percentage.
Rounding out the Second Team selection is first-year Annie Mitchell. In the defensive midfield, Mitchell has started all 17 contests. She has also dished out four assists on the attack.
Katie Jasminski received Honorable Mention All-UAA status. With 16 starts in 17 games, Jasminski ranks second on the team in points with seven goals and four assists. In 2018, she was named Second Team All-UAA.
Casey Jervier joined Jasminski among the Honorable Mentions. A 17-game starter at sweeper, the junior is part of a defensive unit that has only allowed 13 goals on the year. Opponents are averaging a mere 7.1 shots per game.
