EVANSTON, Ill. – The University of Chicago swimming and diving teams made their season debuts on Friday with a quad meet against NCAA Division I competition at Northwestern University.
The Maroon first-years made a big first impression with six finishes in the top three of their respective events. Nick Ding was the top performer with impressive swims across the board – he took second in the 400-yard IM, second in the 100-yard butterfly and third in the 200-yard butterfly. Fellow rookie Sam Nickson was also second in the 200-yard breaststroke.
