CHICAGO – Record-setting performances by juniors Byrne Litschgi and George Reuter highlighted the University of Chicago swimming and diving teams' efforts on day two of the Phoenix Fall Classic.

One day after setting a new school record in the men's 100-yard backstroke, Litschgi went historically low once again. His 200-yard backstroke time of 1:45.07 was a new school and pool record, and was lower than the time that won last year's NCAA championship in that event. It was also a NCAA B-cut.

Reuter also submitted a standout swim, breaking the school record in the 200-yard butterfly in 1:48.33. It was a NCAA B-cut and personal best mark.

All told, UChicago posted 13 NCAA provisional qualifying times/scores on the day.
