UChicago Swimming & Diving Wraps Up Midwest Invitational, Women Finish First

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago women's swimming & diving team won the Midwest Invitational while the men placed third on Saturday.

The Maroon women were first of nine teams with 577.5 points, beating out Washington University – St. Louis with 454 points. The WashU men won with 658.5 points, with UChicago scoring 309.5 points.

Sophomore Margaret Wolfson was a double winner in the women's 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes, with her 200-yard NCAA B cut time of 2:21.81. Senior Simone Stover was also the victor in the women's 400-yard IM in 4:34.00.

First-year Martin Baffico touched the wall first in the men's 100-yard backstroke in 50.57. A pair of Maroons also achieved NCAA B cut marks. Senior Michael Todd posted a 1:49.28 in the men's 200-yard backstroke, and sophomore Keda Song swam the men's 1,650-yard freestyle in 16:14.33.
