GREENSBORO, N.C. – Agnes Lo led the way with her national runner-up finish in the women's 3-meter dive and the University of Chicago swimming and diving teams saw 12 student-athletes take home All-American honors on a strong opening day of the NCAA Division III national championships.

Lo, fresh off her two regional championships in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, put together another strong performance with her second-place finish, scoring 486.35 points. It was the junior's highest-ever finish in either diving event – she was 5th and 7th in the 2017 championships.

Perhaps more impressive was the combination of all four UChicago divers – whom all earned All-American honors. First-year Elizabeth Cron joined Lo in the championship finals and took sixth (456.55) to earn full All-American honors and Maroon teammates Anna Girlich – a senior competing in her first NCAA championships – and first-year Alice Saparov placed 12th and 16th, respectively, to earn Honorable Mention All-American honors.

In the swimming lanes of the Greensboro Aquatic Center, senior Hannah Eastman took home the best finish of the day, placing 11th in the 200 individual medley with a finals time of 2:04.24 to earn Honorable Mention All-American nods. Earlier in the day's prelims, she broke the school record in the event with a slightly faster time of 2:04.02.

The women's 200 medley relay team also captured Honorable Mention All-American honors, as Tyler Mandrell, Nicole Lin, Nicole Garcia and Daria Wick placed 14th with a time of 1:44.72.

A trio of men's individuals also earned their places in the day's Consolation Finals, as junior Taye Baldinazzo was 15th (4:31.83) in the 500 freestyle and junior Lance Culjat (11th, 1:50.34) and sophomore Keda Song (14th, 1:50.97) wrapped up Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 200 IM.
