GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Chicago swimming and diving teams totaled 13 more All-American finishes at day three of the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday.
Another strong showing from the Maroon women's divers resulted in four All-American finishes for the second time this week. Following her runner-up finish in Wednesday's three-meter dive, junior Agnes Lo placed third in the one-meter dive, scoring 468.45 points. First-year Elizabeth Cron took sixth in the event with 440.90 for her second top-eight showing. Senior Anna Girlich concluded her collegiate career by placing 12th (404.95 points), followed by first-year Alice Saparov in 13th (392.50 points).
The women's 200-yard butterfly proved fruitful for the Maroons as well. Senior Hannah Eastman claimed her fifth All-American award of the meet, finishing seventh in 2:02.83. The consolation final saw sophomore Hadley Ackerman grab 14th in 2:03.89.
On the men's side, seven UChicago swimmers netted All-American status. Junior Byrne Litschgi snagged his third All-American honor of the meet as the squad's top placer. He was fifth in the 100-yard backstroke in 47.89. Junior Lance Culjat also submitted a podium finish in the 100-yard breaststroke as his time of 54.88 secured seventh place.
The 800-yard freestyle relay placed 10th overall with the quartet of sophomore Keda Song, first-year Nick Ding, first-year Julian Spencer and junior Taye Baldinazzo. They touched the wall in a time of 6:41.68 in the finals. Junior George Reuter rounded out the top placers in the consolation finals of the 200-yard butterfly, swimming to 12th place in 1:49.36.
In the team scoring, the Maroon women currently rank sixth with 140 points and the men are eighth with 113 points.
