2019 CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams

CHICAGO – Both University of Chicago swimming and diving teams were recognized as Scholar All-America squads by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), while a program-record 29 Maroons were honored as individual Scholar All-Americans.

Twenty-five of those individual Scholar All-Americans were first-team selections, also marking a program record, and among all 190 college programs across all NCAA Divisions, that number stood tied second to only Emory (26), while Division I Stanford also had 25 first-teamers.

Led by Head Coach Jason Weber, the UChicago women boasted 16 first-team selections (second to only Stanford) and the Maroon men tallied nine first-team honors.

First Team honorees achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention picks posted a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at an NCAA Regional or Zone Diving qualifier.

A total of 777 teams from 480 institutions made the Scholar All-America list at the conclusion of the academic year. Teams must achieve a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the status.

UChicago's women posted a team GPA of 3.69 and the Maroon men owned a 3.47 team GPA, both up from last Spring. The women's mark earned a tie for seventh-best in NCAA Division III.
