Maroons Swimming & Diving Teams Capture 13 Event Titles at WashU Dual

ST. LOUIS – The University of Chicago swimming and diving teams captured a combined 13 event wins in a Saturday dual at rival Washington-St. Louis.

Sophomores Alice Ye and Elizabeth Cron won two events each to lead the women and junior Keda Song won two for the men in a solid effort on the road for the Maroons, who fell by narrow scores in both team events.

Ye won both the 200 backstroke (2:08.48) and 400 individual medley (4:36.35) and Cron swept the women's 1- and 3-meter diving events for UChicago who were edged by the host Bears in the team scores, 160-140. Also taking first-place for the Maroons were Gillian Gagnard (100 backstroke), Nicole Lin (50 freestyle), Morgan Simon (1,000 freestyle) and Audrey Mason (500 freestyle).

Song touched the wall first in both the 200 freestyle (1:43.31) and 200 backstroke (1:52.97) to lead the UChicago men, who fell to the Bears in the team standings by a score of 175-113.

Also winning individual events for the Maroon men were Arthur Kiselnikov (100 freestyle), and both Maroon first-year divers: Andrew Chen in the 1-meter and Logan Sherwin in the 3-meter events.
