CHICAGO – On the opening day of the 2020 University Athletic Association (UAA) Swimming & Championships, the University of Chicago women's diving team put up a historic showing inside the Myers-McLoraine Pool. All told, the Maroons swept the top four places in the women's one-meter dive for the first time in the history of the UAA meet.
Prelims started promisingly for the hosts. UChicago was ranked one through four heading into the finals, paced by sophomore Elizabeth Cron's leading prelim score of 524.55 points.
With the field reduced to eight divers in the final, the Maroon momentum continued. Defending champion senior Agnes Lo emerged as the one-meter winner for the third time in her UAA career, as she submitted a score of 506.65 points. Cron was close behind in second place at 498.90. First-year Evanna Peng placed third with a score of 477.70, followed by sophomore Alice Saparov in fourth (475.95).
