UChicago Swimming & Diving Qualify 32 for NCAA Championships

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago will be sending a school-record 32 swimmers and divers to the upcoming NCAA Division III Championships.

The Maroons will be represented by 17 women and 15 men at the four-day national meet. UChicago has the fifth-most swimmers selected among all Division III schools. The six diving qualifiers is also a new school record.

The NCAA Championships will be hosted from March 18-21 in Greensboro, N.C.

Senior Byrne Litschgi comes into the meet as the No. 1 seed in the men's 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard backstroke. First-year Arthur Kiselnikov is the top seed in the men's 200-yard freestyle. For the women, Morgan Simon is the No. 2 seed in the 1,650-yard freestyle.

Last year, 30 Maroons qualified for NCAAs and earned 52 total All-American awards. The UChicago women finished sixth while the men were eighth in the final team standings.
