Maroon women's tennis continues at day two of the Chicage State Invite

CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team continued competition versus NCAA Division I and II opponents on day two of the Chicago State University Invitational on Saturday.

The Maroons, who fielded their whole roster of 10 players, went 9-12 in singles on the day and 3-2 in doubles matches.

"Our success on day one definitely made today more of a challenge as we advanced through the draw and played even tougher opponents," said Head Coach Jay Tee. "However, we competed well and picked up several quality wins and in the matches we fell short in, we competed well and continued to play as a team. There were some close losses but as we play more matches and learn how to win the big points better, I expect us to improve immensely. As I told the team, we are challenging ourselves at this tournament so that when we are in the same situations next week at the ITA Tournament, we will have learned how to handle the pressure and we can play to win rather than play not to lose."
