MASON, Ohio – The University of Chicago women's tennis team concluded its spring season on Friday as Ariana Iranpour reached the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Division III Singles Championship.

Iranpour, who qualified for the NCAAs in singles and doubles, previously won her two singles matches on Thursday to advance in the 32-player bracket. In the quarterfinals, the No. 8-seed Iranpour took on No. 1-seed Eudice Chong of Wesleyan University. Chong earned the victory 6-2, 6-2.

Iranpour ended her freshman season with a singles record of 27-9.

"Ariana battled hard but give credit to her opponent who really played well," said Head Coach Jay Tee. "Ariana had an outstanding year overall and her best tennis is still ahead of her. She knows where the bar is set and she's motivated to get to the next level for herself and for the team."
