CHICAGO – The University of Chicago women's tennis team will travel to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater for a seven-team NCAA Division III Championship Regional this Friday-Sunday. After receiving a first-round bye, the Maroons will play their opening match on Saturday afternoon.

  • Notes: After winning the IIAC Tournament, Coe is heading to the NCAA tournament for the seventh-straight season… Senior Haley Resnick went 4-0 in the tournament to become Coe's all-time leader in doubles wins with 100, while also tying her for second in school history with 182 career wins … Resnick and her doubles-partner junior Lauren French are the fourth duo in school history to hit 25 wins in a season … French leads the team in singles wins this season with a 27-8 record … Going into the IIAC tournament seeded second, Coe defeated top-seed Luther College 5-2 to clinch the championship and the postseason ticket … Last year, the Kohawks was defeated in the first round of the postseason 5-0 by Augustana College.


Concordia Wisconsin Falcons

  • Notes: Concordia Wisconsin won its third-consecutive NACC Tournament Championship, becoming the second program in the NACC to achieve the feat after Edgewood College from 2013-15 … Sophomore Emma Sievers tied the program's single-season record with 24 after her 6-0, 6-2 victory, which also pushed her win streak to 10 matches. She owns a 24-2 singles mark … Junior Ashley Solberg owns a 17-6 record at the No. 1 singles position this year … Over the last three NACC Tournaments, the Falcons have a combined scoring margin 40-10 with two shutout victories … Last year, Concordia Wisconsin fell to John Carroll University 5-0 in the first round of NCAAs.

  • Notes: Gustavus Adolphus won the MIAC playoff championship for the third-straight year and eighth time, beating Carleton College 5-2 … The Gusties fell to UChicago 5-1 in the third round of the NCAA postseason last year … GAC went undefeated in conference play and are riding a nine-match winning streak … The Gusties have played two of their regional opponents in the regular season, defeating Wisconsin-Whitewater 5-4 and losing to UChicago 8-1 … At the top of the lineup, junior Briana Hartmann owns a team-best 24-8 singles record. She also holds down the No. 1 doubles spot with senior Ally Baker, going 16-7 on the season … GAC is 18-4 at the No. 3 singles spot this season.


St. Scholastica Saints

  • Notes: The Saints captured their 19th overall and second-consecutive UMAC tournament championship. St. Scholastica trailed Northwestern (Minn.) 4-1 before coming back to win 5-4. Senior Sarah Coryell clinched the match in third-set super tiebreak … It was the seventh-straigth meeting of the Saints and the Eagles in the UMAC Championship, with the Saints leading the series 4-3 … In the semifinals of the UMAC, Coryell earned her 100th career victory, becoming the sixth player in program history to reach that mark … Coryell owns an 18-1 singles record while senior Alexia Brascugli is 10-3 overall … St. Scholastica fell to Hope College 5-0 in the first round of the NCAA tournament last year.


#34 Wisconsin-Whitewater Warhawks
