Maroon Women’s Tennis Picks Up Three Wins at HOF ITA Grass Court Invite Day Two

NEWPORT, R.I. – The University of Chicago women's tennis team captured one singles win and two doubles victories at the second day of the Hall of Fame ITA Grass Court Invitational on Saturday.

UChicago played four singles matches and two doubles matches. Sophomore Claire Handa defeated her Carnegie Mellon University opponent in three sets, coming back to win 3-6, 6-0, 10-6.

In doubles play, the first-year duo of Lauren Park and Eugenia Lee outlasted their Emory University opposition by a 9-7 score. There was also an all-maroon matchup with Catherine Xu/Estefania Navarro taking on teammates Alyssa Rudin/Daryn Ellison. Xu and Navarro got the victory 8-3.
