UChicago Women's Tennis Wins Fifth-Straight; Tops WashU 8-1

FLOSSMOOR, Ill. – The No. 11 University of Chicago women's tennis team put together its second-straight dominating performance in as many days with Sunday's 8-1 win over No. 15 Washington-St. Louis.

The Maroons (11-4) swept doubles play, with wins from the duos of Catherine Xu and Eugenia Lee, Lainey Axell and Marjorie Antohi, and Lauren Park and Nicole Semenov all victorious.

Antohi (No. 1), Park (No. 3), Lee (No. 4) and Semenov (No. 5) were also dominant in singles play with straight-set wins, while sophomore Catherine Xu pulled out a gritty win at No. 2, responding with a 6-2 loss in the opening game by taking the next two, 7-5, 10-2.

The win marked the fifth-straight for the Maroons and second this weekend after UChicago topped No. 33 Case Western Reserve on Saturday night, 9-0.
