CHICAGO, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's and women's track & field teams both received USTFCCCA Division III All-Academic Team honors for the 2012 seasons. Additionally, Paige Peltzer, Julia Sizek and Michaela Whitelaw earned individual All-Academic honors.

A total of 74 men's teams and 137 women's teams were named All-Academic Teams, which required a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better. The Chicago men's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.34 while the Chicago women's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.37.

Individually, 340 student-athletes from 107 schools were given the USTFCCCA All-Academic distinction on the women's side. Peltzer, Sizek and Whitelaw represented the Maroons.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: a student-athlete must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
