Three Maroons Earn UAA Weekly Accolades

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior women's track & field athlete Paige Peltzer (Atchison, Kan./ Atchison), sophomore pitcher Claude Lockhart (Shreveport, La./ Loyola), and sophomore designated hitter Ricky Troncelliti (Norristown, Pa./ Haverford School) have been selected as the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week in their respective sports.

Peltzer cleared a height of 1.67 meters in the high jump -- currently the 11th-best mark in the NCAA Division III – at the DePaul University Invitational this past Saturday.

Lockhart posted a 2-0 record with a 1.32 ERA in two starts last week. He allowed six hits and one earned run over 6.2 innings in a 6-3 victory over Wabash College (Apr. 17), then tossed a three-hit complete game in the Maroons' 7-1 win over Washington (Mo.) University (Apr. 22).

Troncelliti batted .500 (11-for-22) with a home run and eight RBIs as the Maroons won five of six games last week. After going 2-for-3 with three runs and three RBIs in a 12-7 win over North Central College (Apr. 18), he had eight hits in 15 at-bats as the Maroons took three of four games from Washington-St. Louis. He had at least two hits in each contest.

Peltzer, Lockhart, and Troncelliti each claimed their first career UAA Athlete of the Week citation.
