CHICAGO, Ill. – The University of Chicago had a successful day hosting the Margaret Bradley Invitational on Saturday as women's track and field team won the team title while the men's team finished second.
The Maroons topped the 15-team women's field with 162.5 points, outdistancing second place Aurora University with 132.5 points. UChicago recorded five event victories on the day. Freshman Michelle Dobbs won the 400 meters in 59.26 as the Maroons took three of the top four spots in the race. Sophomore Brianna Hickey was a winner in the 800 meters (2:21.17), freshman Jadylin Tolda earned a victory in the pole vault (3.51 meters) and sophomore Rachael Jackson won the long jump (5.28 meters). Additionally, the 4x400-meter relay team of freshman Eleanor Kang, senior Jennie Porter, freshman Jung Wu and Dobbs won in 4:13.43.
On the men's side, Aurora finished first out 13 teams with 129 points while UChicago was close behind in second at 119 points. The Maroons were victorious in three events. Sophomore Ben Clark sprinted past the competition in the 200 meters (22.93) and senior Daniel Povitsky won the one mile (4:17.89). Sophomore Michael Bennett tied for first in the pole vault with a height of 4.71 meters. UChicago secured three of the top four spots in the one mile and also the top three places in the pole vault.
