CHICAGO – University of Chicago's Isabel Maletich added another accolade to her stellar rookie campaign, as she was voted the 2019 University Athletic Association (UAA) Outdoor Track & Field Women's Rookie of the Year on Wednesday.
Maletich received the matching award as UAA Indoor Women's Rookie of the Year back in February. Over the weekend in Atlanta, the UChicago first-year won the UAA outdoor long jump title with a leap of 5.70 meters. She followed up by placing fourth in the triple jump (11.40 meters) and fourth as part of the 4x100-meter relay.
Maletich made history on March 8 by capturing a NCAA national championship in the women's indoor long jump with a school-record mark of 5.91 meters.
