NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The University of Chicago track and field teams competed at the two-day North Central College Dr. Keller Invitational on Thursday and Friday.
In a field that included NCAA Division II and NAIA squads, the Maroons totaled 14 finished in the top 10 of an event.
First-year Isabel Maletich led the way in the women's long jump, taking runner-up at 5.79 meters. The 4x400-meter relay also took second in 3:49.47 with the quartet of senior Nicole VacaGuzman, first-year Meg Fitzpatrick, senior Tali Naibryf and junior Mary Martin. VacaGuzman also placed third in the 800 meters (2:11.53).
The men's side was led by the 4x400-meter relay of first-year Dillon O'Loughlin, junior Elliott Paintsil, senior Ben Chaimberg and junior Tyson Miller. The top individual men's finisher was junior Alexander Scott, taking sixth in the shot put at 15.96 meters.
