CHICAGO – Both University of Chicago track and field teams came away with team titles as hosts of the Windy City Rumble on Saturday.

UChicago's men placed first of nine teams with 156 points while the women were first of 10 teams with 204.5 points.

On the women's side, UChicago hauled in eight event victories. Sophomore Isabel Maletich handily seized the long jump and triple jump with leaps of 5.77 meters and 12.40 meters, respectively. The triple jump mark set a new facility record at Henry Crown Field House. Sophomore Kaitlyn Van Baalen triumphed in the 800 meters in 2:17.46, sophomore Sarika Temme-Bapat took first in the mile in 5:11.94 and sophomore Sofia Natividad crossed the line in 10:42.89 in the 3,000 meters. Senior Laura Darcey topped the pentathlon field with 3,794 points scored. In the pole vault, senior Isabel Garon cleared 3.61 meters. The 4x400-meter relay team also crossed the finish line in a winning time of 3:57.19.

The Maroon men accumulated four total wins. In the middle distances, juniors Ryan Cutter (4:15.59) and Will Shine (1:56.27) finished first in the one mile and 800 meters, respectively. In field events, senior Alexander Scott won the shot put with a heave of 16.78 meters while junior Ted Falkenhayn registered a first-place triple jump of 13.57 meters.
