CHICAGO -- Sophomore outside hitter Morgan Clark (Purcellville, Va./ Loudon Valley) hit a team-high seven kills as the 16th-ranked University of Chicago volleyball team defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College 25-19, 25-22, 25-22 Wednesday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.
With their fifth straight overall win and fifth in a row at home, the Maroons raised their season record to 16-1. Chicago also improved to 22-4 at the Ratner Center since the start of the 2008 campaign.
Clark (pictured above, far right) hit seven kills in 11 attempts without an error. Four other Maroons collected four kills apiece, and nine had at least one kill on the night.
Wisconsin Lutheran lost for the first time in seven matches and slipped to 9-9 on the year.
The Maroons travel to St. Louis this weekend to participate in the first of two 2011 University Athletic Association Round Robin events.
Chicago will face fourth-ranked Emory University Saturday morning before taking on Case Western Reserve University in the afternoon. The Maroons will then meet the University of Rochester Sunday morning.
