ELMHURST, Ill. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team wrapped up the Elmhurst College Invitational with a 3-1 win over St. Norbert College and a 3-1 loss to No. 4-ranked Elmhurst on Saturday.
The No. 12-ranked Maroons run their record to 3-1 on the season.
In the day's opening match, UChicago defeated St. Norbert 3-1 with scores of 20-25, 25-14, 25-19, 25-17. Four players reached double-digit kills, led by outside hitter Maren Loe with 14 kills to go with 11 digs. Rightside hitter Katie Huntington tallied 13 kills, four digs and two blocks. Outside hitter Morgan Barry collected 12 kills and nine digs and middle blocker Maggie Vaughn totaled 10 kills. Setter Ragine Graves handed out 29 assists to go with 14 digs, and setter Nikki DelZenero compiled 15 assists, eight digs and three aces. Libero Eirene Kim finished with a team-high 25 digs and also posted 10 assists.
In the second match, Elmhurst came away with a 3-1 win over the Maroons (25-14, 25-15, 19-25, 25-11). Huntington had 10 kills while outside hitter Jasmine Mobley totaled nine kills and five digs. Kim paced the defense with 21 digs while middle blocker Kara Conway had seven block assists. DelZenero distributed 18 assists and Graves added 15 assists and 11 digs. Barry put up 13 digs with three blocks and five kills.
At the conclusion of the invite, Kim was one of seven players named to the all-tournament team.
