Huntington and Povitsky named UAA Athletes of the Week

CHICAGO, Ill. -- University of Chicago volleyball player Katie Huntington and cross country runner Daniel Povitsky were both named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week on Monday.

Huntington earned Co-Offensive Athlete of the Week after leading the Maroons to a 3-1 record last week. Her top performance came in a four-set victory at Illinois Wesleyan University when she spiked 16 kills. In the three weekend matches at the Carthage College Invite, Huntington tallied nine kills against each opponent. The senior rightside hitter finished with 43 kills and a .324 hitting percentage over the four matches.

Povitsky clinched his second-straight UAA weekly honor on the strength of Friday's performance at the Illinois Intercollegiate Cross Country Championships. The senior posted the top time for the Maroons, taking fifth place overall with a time of 25:07. The UChicago men finished fourth out of 18 teams in the standings. One week earlier, Povitsky won the Aurora University Spartan Classic in 25:03.40.
