CHICAGO, Ill. -- Three University of Chicago athletic teams are currently ranked in national top 25 polls this week. The Maroons are represented in the men's cross country, women's cross country and volleyball polls.
The UChicago women's cross country squad is No. 7 in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings. Last week, the Maroons achieved a No. 6 ranking, which was its highest in team history. UChicago has won three of its four team races this fall with one runner-up finish.
In the same USTFCCCA poll, the UChicago men moved up to No. 16. The Maroons have won two of their first three team races of the season, with one fourth-place showing.
UChicago found itself holding steady at No. 18 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll. The team has been ranked in 30-straight polls, dating back to Nov. 9, 2010. The Maroons own an 11-5 record on the year.
