UChicago volleyball beats Washington-St. Louis 3-1 at UAA Round Robin I

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The University of Chicago volleyball team defeated Washington University in St. Louis for the second time in school history by a 3-1 margin at the University Athletic Association (UAA) Round Robin I on Sunday.

The No. 18-ranked Maroons and the No. 9-ranked Bears now own identical 14-5 records on the season. UChicago topped Washington-St. Louis for the first time ever in 2012 and has now won twice in 40 all-time meetings.

The Maroons won the first set 25-14, and Washington-St. Louis won the second set 25-22. UChicago then took the match 25-18 and 25-22. The Bears committed 13 service errors in the match. Senior setter Nikki DelZenero set a season-high with 43 assists and sophomore outside hitter Maren Loe tallied her second-highest kill total of the year with 17.
