LISLE, Ill. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team defeated North Central College 3-1 and Concordia University Chicago 3-0 at the first day of the Benedictine University Tournament on Friday. The No. 19-ranked Maroons improved to 22-9 on the season.
UChicago started the day matched up with North Central. The Maroons cruised through the first set 25-8 and ran into some resistance in the second set with a narrow 26-24 win. The Cardinals took the third set 25-22 and UChicago rebounded to clinch the match in the fourth 25-11.

The Maroons then swept past Concordia Chicago in straight sets 25-10, 25-15, 25-13. It marked the 12th time this year that UChicago has beaten an opponent 3-0.
