UChicago Volleyball Rolls IWU 3-0

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The University of Chicago volleyball team secured their fourth 3-0 sweep in-a-row, downing Illinois Wesleyan University on Wednesday night.

The No. 8-ranked Maroons improved to 7-1. The Titans fell to 0-8.

UChicago returned to Bloomington for the second time in a week after going 3-0 at IWU's Holiday Inn Express Classic over the weekend. The Maroons kept those good vibes flowing with a quick and efficient victory. UChicago won the first two sets by matching 25-20 scores, then hit .500 in the third set to close the evening out 25-15.

In the final stats, the Maroons registered a .200 hitting percentage while IWU swung at a .120 clip. UChicago collected nine aces and 6.5 blocks.

Junior setter Emma Griffith racked up 30 assists and junior libero Katherine Wilson posted a team-high 16 digs.

Offensively, junior outside hitter Fredericka Paulson put up nine kills, five digs and two aces. Senior outside hitter Anne Marie Stifter recorded seven kills, seven digs and two aces. Senior middle hitter Madison Pearson scored seven kills with a .400 hitting percentage. She added three aces, six digs and two blocks.
