2019 All-Association Honors

CHICAGO – The University of Chicago volleyball team's undefeated run through University Athletic Association regular-season play landed the Maroons seven honorees and the Coaching Staff of the Year in Wednesday's release of the 2019 All-Association Volleyball Team.

Head Coach Sharon Dingman and assistants Mitchell McPartland and Thom Guzi were honored as UAA Coaching Staff of the Year after leading the Maroons to a perfect 7-0 Round Robin record and runner-up finish in the UAA Championship.

First-team selections led the way for UChicago: Junior setter Emma Griffith, senior middle hitter Madison Pearson and senior outside Anne Marie Stifter.

Griffith, now a three-time First-Team selection, led the league in assists per set (11.21) and finished second in services aces per set (0.54). She was named UAA Player of the Week six times during the 2019 season and AVCA National Player of the Week on Oct. 22.

Stifter earned First-Team honors for the first time in her career after tabbing an Honorable Mention nod a year ago. A two-time UAA Athlete of the Week in 2019, Stifter finished fifth in kills per set (3.04) in the UAA and ninth in digs per set (3.49). Her 301 kills currently lead the Maroons.

Pearson earns her second-straight First-Team honor after finishing sixth in UAA hitting percentage at .327 and 10th in blocks per set (0.81). She ranks third on the team with 244 total kills and second in hitting percentage.

Junior Fredericka Paulson and Ellie Alden earned first-time league honors with selections on the All-UAA Second Team. Paulson is second on the team in kills per set (2.69), a mark that ranks ninth in the UAA. Alden was dominant at the net in her rookie campaign, as her blocks per set (0.93) and hitting percentage (.353) led the Maroons and ranked fourth in UAA play.

Junior libero Katherine Wilson and junior outside Mikayla Hardy were also tabbed to the UAA Honorable Mention list. Wilson led the squad in digs per set (.503), a mark that stands second in the UAA; while Hardy's kills per set (2.45) stood 15th.

Emory's Leah Saunders was a repeat selection for UAA Player of the Year and the Eagles' setter Cassie Srb was tabbed the Rookie of the Year.
