Emma Griffith Earns Second-Straight CoSIDA Volleyball Academic All-District Honor

CHICAGO – For the second-straight year, University of Chicago volleyball player Emma Griffith was selected to the 2019 Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Griffith was one of eight honorees in NCAA Division III – District 7. The CoSIDA Academic All-District Teams are voted upon by the membership of CoSIDA. Academic All-District recipients must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at their current institution.

A Law, Letters & Society major, Griffith was the starting setter for the No. 2-ranked Maroons. UChicago reached the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship for the first time and set a new program record for winning percentage at .875.

Griffith averaged 11.01 assists per set and 3.17 digs per set. She also served up a team-best 57 aces. The junior is a two-time University Athletic Association (UAA) All-Academic Team selection and a member of the 2018 UAA Presidents Council Scholar-Athlete Team.
