WARRENVILLE, Ill. – The University of Chicago men's and women's cross country teams both finished in second place at the Wheaton College Gil Dodds Invitational on Saturday.
A total of 13 women's teams ran the 6K and 12 men's teams ran the 8K at St. James Farm. Washington University-St. Louis won on both the men's and women's sides with 25 points and 46 points, respectively.
UChicago's women placed second with 57 points. Sophomore Khia Kurtenbach was the top finisher once again for the Maroons as she finished fifth in a time of 22:26. The senior tandem of Brianna Hickey (22:58) and Catherine Young (23:05) placed eighth and tenth, respectively. Junior Madeleine Horvath finished 13th in 23:19.
The Maroons men were also runner-up to WashU with 66 points total. Junior Gareth Jones was the lead UChicago runner for the second-straight meet, finishing sixth in a time of 25:58. Senior Michael Frasco was the next across the line in eighth (26:15) and junior Timofey Karginov was 12th (26:30).
